Dun Laoghaire Excursion – 21 June 2019

Two weeks ago on Friday, a group of members from GHIS went on an excursion to dun Laoghaire in county Dublin. We all met at Tara street station at 10 AM. There were five of us and two staff members. We took the Dart and the journey lasted half an hour.

When we arrived in Dun Laoghaire, we walked all the way down the pier. At the end of the pier we sat down and had something to eat. I went down to the water’s edge and the sea looked lovely and clear.

We walked back along the pier, while looking for and ice-cream van, but after talking amongst ourselves we decided not to buy any ice creams!

We had coffee and lunch in an ‘Itsa…’ coffee shop and sat outside to enjoy the sunshine. Some people got the DART back home but I took the 46A bus as it leaves me right to my street. All in all it was a great day and I hope that we go on another excursion soon. Author: Damien.
